Visa Requirements for Uganda

Any person intending to enter Uganda requires a visa, which can be applied for online through the official immigration portal. Uganda provides several visa options, including single-entry, multiple-entry, and an East African Tourist Visa that allows travel within Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda.

Basic Visa Requirements:

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months.
  • Photo: A recent passport-sized photo.
  • Yellow Fever Certificate: Proof of vaccination is mandatory.
  • Application Form: Completed online.
  • Payment: Visa fees vary depending on the visa type (e.g., $50 for a single-entry visa or $100 for the East African Tourist Visa).

Processing time is typically 2-3 days, and travellers are advised to apply at least 10 days in advance. The eVisa, once approved, is sent via email, and travellers must print the approval letter to present upon arrival.

For more specific cases (business, family visits, or studies), additional documents such as invitation letters or proof of accommodation may be required.

Visa-exempt countries still need to provide a yellow fever certificate and other documentation upon arrival.
